Impotent Vilification of George W. Bush
Railing against the president doesn't seem to do much good. Sean Wilentz thinks Bush may be the worst president ever. But I remember hating Johnson and Nixon during Viet Times, and Carter during the Iranian hostage crisis. Once these guys are out of office, they don't seem so bad, somehow. But back when I printed a little magazine called Unmuzzled OX, I would gather material by calling for submissions on a particular theme. Indulge yourself, I might say today; tell me how much you hate George 43. But then there are folks like Kirby Olson, part of a vast born-again Christian counter culture. 43 is their savior.

Not my savior. Just ok. At least as ok as Kerry. And I'm not born-again. I was born once, and not even yesterday. That's plenty to be grateful for.
As James Dolan is to New York basketball and hockey, as Sathanas is in Christian eschatology, so, to my mind, is George Bush to the world.
You should get some perspective Michael. Tiberius would kill 50,000 in the coliseum for one day just for a little sport.
Bush has done nothing like that.
The checks and balances in this country are admirable.
This is the only country that even truly recognizes law and order as an absolute principle.
You're just mad you can't get your billionaire friend John Kerry elected. And what would he be doing differently if he did get elected? His speeches would be even worse, his hair style awful, his pallid skin dispiriting, his millions unbecoming, his wife rancid, his wearing of flip-flops rather smelly, and at best he'd unravel a few of our institutions with his excessive Irish sentimentality.
The American people were right to pass on that loser.
Have you not heard you shall not kill? Did not Jesus say, "I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother without cause will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'I judge you', will be subjected to THE judgment and will be in danger of the fire of hell". Please return quickly. Read. Learn to "settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still with him on the way, or he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown in prison...(37)Simply let your 'Yes' to be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one."...(44)But I tell you:Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons and daughters of your father in heaven."
