Litvinenko and Abu Ghraib

Russia and America are cursed currently with two of the worst leaders in their history. The invasion of Iraq seems to be the worst mistake so far in the 21st century, although the Russians in Chechnya seem comparably stupid and brutal. Perhaps some misunderstood legacy of the Cold War has led the Russian and American people to select these horrible presidents.

I don't think Bush is responsible for Abu Ghraib.

Putin is probably responsible for Litvinenko. Time will tell.

So far Bush has not killed any of his domestic opponents.

The Democrats have to offer an intelligent alternative next time around. I hope that they won't run Hillary or Obama. Although I do think those two can beat McCain, they can't beat Giuliani or Jeb.

I'd like to see a Democrat who wasn't just a PC guilt tripper in terms of thought. It would be refreshing. But I don't think such a creature even exists any longer.
